EIP (Ethereum Improvement Proposal)
An EIP is a formal proposal to change something in the Ethereum protocol or its conventions. Each one carries a number (EIP-20, EIP-1559, EIP-4844) and goes through a public review process before being implemented in a hard fork. The same model has inspired similar processes on other chains, including HIPs on Hyperliquid.
