Mainchain
Mainchain is the primary blockchain in a multi-chain architecture, paired with one or more sidechains or rollups. The term is mostly used in the context of Bitcoin sidechains (Liquid, Rootstock) and is less common in the Ethereum ecosystem where "L1" has taken over.
