Optimistic Rollup
Optimistic rollups batch transactions off-chain, post the resulting data to L1, and assume the batch is valid unless someone submits a fraud proof during a challenge window (usually 7 days). The model is cheap and EVM-compatible but introduces a withdrawal delay equal to the challenge period. Arbitrum and Optimism are the largest examples.
