Wrapped Token
A wrapped token represents an asset from one chain (or one form) as a token on another chain. WBTC is Bitcoin on Ethereum; WETH is ETH usable as an ERC-20. The wrapping is usually backed 1:1 by reserves held by a custodian or a bridge contract, and the trust assumptions of the wrapping system fully apply to the wrapped token.
