Chain ID
The chain ID is a number that uniquely identifies a blockchain network. Ethereum mainnet is 1, Hyperliquid's HyperEVM is 999. The chain ID is included in transaction signatures (EIP-155) so a transaction signed for one chain cannot be replayed on another. Wallets use it to pick which RPC endpoint to talk to.
