Cross‑Chain

Cross-chain refers to anything that crosses a blockchain boundary — token transfers, smart contract calls, oracle data. The infrastructure is almost always a bridge or a messaging protocol (LayerZero, Wormhole, Axelar). The trade-off is always the same: the cross-chain system's security is usually weaker than that of either of the two chains it connects.
