Gas
Gas is the unit of computational work on EVM chains. Every opcode the EVM executes costs a fixed amount of gas, and a transaction's total gas is paid by the sender in the chain's native token (ETH on Ethereum, HYPE on HyperEVM). The mechanism prevents infinite loops and prices network resources.
