Peer-to-Peer (P2P)

Peer-to-peer describes a network where every participant is equal and there is no central server. Blockchain networks are peer-to-peer at the gossip layer: nodes connect to each other directly to relay transactions and blocks. The P2P model is what makes a chain hard to shut down — there is no central point to seize.
