Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP)
A zero-knowledge proof lets one party convince another that a statement is true without revealing why. The two main classes are SNARKs (succinct, fast to verify, require a trusted setup in many constructions) and STARKs (no trusted setup, larger proofs). ZK proofs power both privacy chains and the validity guarantees of zk rollups.
