ZK-Rollup
A zk rollup batches transactions off-chain and posts a succinct zero-knowledge proof of their correctness to L1. The L1 contract verifies the proof, accepts the new state root, and finality is reached as soon as the proof is verified — no challenge window. The trade-off is that producing the proof is computationally expensive and EVM-equivalent zk rollups have only recently matured.
