Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS)
In DPoS, token holders elect a small set of validators (often 20 to 100) who produce blocks on their behalf. The model reduces the number of nodes that need to coordinate, which improves throughput at the cost of centralization. Hyperliquid uses a delegated proof-of-stake model where HYPE holders delegate to validators who earn commissions on their stake.
