HIP (Hyperliquid Improvement Proposal)
A HIP is a formal proposal for a protocol-level change on Hyperliquid. HIPs are decided by HYPE holders and historically have introduced major capabilities rather than parameter tweaks: HIP-1 set the native token standard, HIP-2 added the protocol-native liquidity engine (Hyperliquidity), HIP-3 opened up builder-deployed perpetuals, HIP-4 added outcome markets. Anyone can write a HIP, but they go through review and on-chain governance before implementation.
