Network Latency

Network latency is the time it takes for a packet to travel from sender to receiver. For an RPC request, end-to-end latency adds geographic distance to the server, queueing inside the server, and the work to read state. For latency-sensitive workloads like market making, the geographic component dominates — which is why Hyperliquid market makers tend to colocate in Tokyo near the validator set.
