Throughput
Throughput is the rate at which a chain can process transactions, usually quoted in transactions per second. Real throughput depends on transaction type — a simple transfer is much cheaper than a complex DEX swap — which is why TPS numbers from different chains are often not directly comparable. Hyperliquid's order-book design pushes throughput well above the EVM L1 baseline.
