Nonce
A nonce in Ethereum is a sender-incremented counter ensuring transactions from the same account execute in order and cannot be replayed. In proof-of-work, "nonce" refers to a different concept — the value miners vary to find a valid block hash. The two meanings coexist confusingly in the same ecosystem.
