Smart Contract

A smart contract is a program deployed to a blockchain that executes when called. The code is public, immutable (unless explicitly upgradable), and runs under the chain's consensus rules — every node reaches the same result given the same inputs. Most of DeFi, NFTs, and on-chain governance is built out of smart contracts.
