Snapshot
A snapshot freezes the state of the chain (or a specific contract) at a given block height. Projects use snapshots to determine token holders eligible for an airdrop or a governance vote. Off-chain governance often uses the Snapshot platform — same name, different concept — for gas-free polls weighted by token balance at a snapshot block.
